Type Of Mental Illnesses

I don’t believe in labeling people or categorizing them into ‘mental-illness-types’. As an experiential expert, I believe in giving somebody with mental health or psychosocial issue a very patient hearing and delving very, very, deeply into their phenomenology of distress and coming up with a plan of action customized to meet their UNIQUE needs and with the person suffering from the psychosocial issue in the driver’s seat. The client should direct the process of therapy. I can only follow and add to the same. Having said that there’s something more to psycho-social issues that I would like to state.
Let nobody lose hope – let the song of societal and mental wellness be sung right from the brothels of Bombay to the poorest ghettos of Calcutta. And all over Africa to right across America. Let liberty be the way of life for the psychosocially challenged victims of drug abuse, prostitution, gender discrimination, bonded labor, poverty, child sexual abuse, rape, and professional insensitivity in mental health settings and let all of them be educated with an education that doesn’t dis-empower them but enables them to stand up to the challenges and realities of life!!! THIS IS DR LAVANYA SESHASAYEE FOR YOU AND HAVE A LOVELY DAY!!!
