International Day of Charity

In recognition of the significant role that charities and individuals have undertaken to alleviate human suffering and humanitarian crises, the UN General Assembly, has designated the 5th of September as the International Day of Charity. This date was chosen as it is the anniversary of the DEATH OF MOTHER TERESA [my favorite saint] and the resolution is, in part, a tribute to her work and dedication to charitable causes.

If you can donate to an NGO or a humanitarian cause it is great but giving need not always be monetary. On This day which is post-international charity day THE GWRM – GLOBAL WOMEN’S RECOVERY MOVEMENT urges you to give – give even when you have nothing - give a smile to someone in distress, give love to somebody, give a flower and utter kind words to someone you know is old and in an old age home OR a mental health institution and is brooding and whose children haven’t visited them. Think of other innovative ways to give to people. Think of cheering up poor children with mental health issues. Their blessings and goodwill could be the best thing you ever had!!!
